Navy blue blazer with red and gold Petersham ribbon to all edges, pockets and cuffs. Three, white metal buttons to front and two on cuffs. Embroidered motif: White, mounted St. George and dragon, scroll ‘West Indies 1974’. Nmae tape inside collar. ‘Name M H Denness’. Three inner pockets, maker’s label and inside one pocket

Official M.C.C. navy blue touring blazer with embroidered M.C.C. emblem in white of St George & Dragon of England and below in scroll 'West Indies 1974' to breast pocket worn by Mike Denness on the tour. Trimming to pockets, sleeves and blazer edging in M.C.C. colours of yellow and red. The blazer by Simpson of Piccadilly. 'M.H. Denness' handwritten to inside label. Tony Lewis had retired as captain due to injury and finally Mike Denness was appointed M.C.C. captain for the tour of the West Indies in 1974. As for the new captain, Denness had a poor tour, who it is reported 'Seeming out of his depth, both as a captain and batsman', he scored only 504 runs from 19 innings with a highest score of 67 and an average of 33.60. England drew the series 1-1 with the other Tests drawn
