Description

Team photograph of the touring MCC side and the Punjab Governor's XI. Douglas Jardine, the captain of the MCC team is seated four from the right, flanked by the Prince of Patiala, Yuvraj Singh and C K Nayudu. Mian Saeed is standing third from right in the middle row. Players are all wearing whites and various jackets, all MCC players in touring jackets with George and the Dragon motif. All wearing whites underneath. Almost all the front row have their legs crossed.

A group photograph of the visiting MCC team and the Punjab Governor's XI for a two day match played at Lahore in 1934. This was the first match of the tourists. Douglas Jardine, who lead the MCC is sitting fourth from the right, flanked by the Prince of Patiala, Yuvraj Singh and C K Nayudu, who later lead the Indian team in the Test series. Mian Saeed, standing third from right in the middle row, earned the distinction of being the first Cricket captain of Pakistan. C K Nayudu scored a century in this drawn match.
