John Langridge. Sussex & England 1928-1955. 'John Langridge 1928-1953 not out'. Original advertising poster, printed on card, for John Langridge's Testimonial Season in 1953. The poster, with pen and ink artwork originally by A.R. Young, depicts various scenes and players (including Langridge) from the time with printed commentary on the player. Players featured are Ted Bowley, Jimmy Parks, Langridge, Harry Parks, David Sheppard, the scoreboard at Hove etc. The artist picks out '1922 when it all started, John aged 12, hit two centuries in schools cricket', '1933 First full season for Sussex. Got his highest score 250 against Glamorgan', '1949. Peak season. 2914 runs, average 60.70. Hit 12 centuries.... twice hit two 100's in a match...'.The poster concludes with the message '1953.
