Ladies Clutch Bag, 1950s M.2017.8 The Maharajkumar of Vizianagram was the controversial captain of the 1936 Indian Tour to the UK. He disaffected many of his players, was scorned in the Press but knighted in the King’s birthday honours. Having started as great patron of cricket in his early years he finished as the President of the Board of Control in India 1954-57 when he gifted this bag to MCC.
