In a modern twist on Browning’s idea, the ‘Sweet Spot’ bat was developed. From an initial idea by Bob Woolmer, and in partnership with sports scientists, it aims to aid young players in hitting the ball more often, therefore gaining confidence and improving their skill. Part of the research was carried out in the extensive MCC bat collection, which holds approximately 400 bats.
