First Test: Behind the Wicket, Christchurch, 2002 Nancy Bixby (b.1971) Oil on board Nancy Bixby was commissioned by MCC to document the 2001-2002 England tour to New Zealand. Travelling with the team she recorded players and the surrounding area. Primarily influenced by Impressionism, Bixby’s style is characterised by broken brushstrokes and the changing qualities of light creating a sense of immediacy and movement.
