Round tin badge with small tab. features head only, colour drawing of 'Tich' Freeman. Surname below, 'Bend here' on tab. Reverse has player name and teams. Album information and date 'Given with Nelson Lee' '2.3.29'. Link to The Nelson Lee School story library by Edwy Searles Brooks. One of a series of 16 tin badges produced to fill the Nelson Lee Souvenir album. Produced for the Test Matches, England vs Australia, 1928-29. Other English players who travelled to Australia for the series and featured in this album were -Percy Chapman (Kent); Jack White (Somerset), Douglas Jardine (Surrey); Jack Hobbs (Surrey); Herbert Sutcliffe (Yorkshire); Wally Hammond (Gloucestershire); Patsy Hendren (Middlesex); Ernest Tyldesley (Lancashire); Phil Mead (Hampshire); Maurice Leyland (Yorkshire); Maurice Tate (Sussex); George Geary (Leicestershire); George Duckworth (Lancashire); Les Ames (Kent); Harold Larwood (Nottinghamshire. England won the 5 test series 4-1, some remarkable performances by many of the players, notably Wally Hammond averaging 113 for the series.
