Description

MCC, navy blue, touring blazer, with red and gold Petersham ribbon trim around pockets, cuffs and outer edge. Motif: Embroidered MCC emblem on breast pocket (white St. George & Dragon), scroll below ‘West Indies’. ‘D.C.F. Burton 1931’ handwritten to label. Three brass buttons on front and two on cuffs. Beige lining. Burton played for MCC in West Indies tour 1910/11 & 1912/13 according to Cricket Archive, so date on label possible mistake.

Trimming to blazer, pockets and sleeves in MCC colours of yellow and red. ‘D.C.F. Burton 1931’ handwritten to label. Some moth damage to blazer and wear to trim. Sold with letter of provenance from EDF Burton, great nephew of Burton – cricket. £150/200
