Red leather 'Special County' cricket ball with silver shield shaped plaque. Used during England vs. Australia, second test, Lord’s 24th June 1968. N J N Hawke, c. Cowdrey, b. Knight2. 111th catch in test matches, breaking W R Hammond record. Plaque attached with bent pins.

Cricket ball caught by Colin Cowdrey to claim his 111th test catch Dukes Special County, 1968 MCC Collection TN.2013.52 It was during the England v Australia at Lord’s on June 24 1968 that Colin Cowdrey (later Lord Cowdrey of Tonbridge) caught Neil Hawke off the bowling of Barry Knight and broke Wally Hammond’s world record for Test catches by a fielder.
