England Blazer of Clare Connor, 2009

Date:
2009
Object Number:
M.2013.29
Creator
Paul Costelloe (designer)
Production reason
Was the official formalwear from 2009-2013.
Production notes
Bespoke design for England women's cricket. Was the second time Costelloe designed for the team. This time, he took inspiration from the classic movie, "Chariots of Fire", to create smart, softly-tailored navy suits, piped in white, in fine wool crepe and cotton, which infused English style with a chic silhouette. "It’s been a pleasure working with these very talented and beautiful women again; they certainly cut a finer silhouette than Kevin Pietersen and the rest of the men’s team!" said Costelloe. The England captain, Charlotte Edwards said: "We’re really privileged that all our formal wear is designed and supplied by Paul Costelloe. He’s been really supportive of the team and is a fabulous designer. All the clothes are so lovely and fit us perfectly." website accessed 2013-06-14 http://www.newfashionnews.com/newsitem/496/2009-fashion-news-England-Women’s-Cricket-team-wins-in-style.html
