This is the original scorecard for the famous match at the Oval which led to the 'ashes obituary' (displayed alongside). The original scorebook for the game is also part of the collection but is not currently on display owing to its delicate condition. The two team lists (herewith) however have fared much better and the handwriting of the English and Australian captains, A.N.Hornby and W.L. Murdoch is surely as clear as it was on the day of the match.
