Description

Coloured photo-lithograph of Colours being presented at Lord's Cricket Ground (Dorset Square) to the 2nd Regiment of Royal East India Volunteers by Lady Jane Dundas, on 27th June 1797. After Henry Matthews. On the right an army wearing orange and blue, many wearing admiral hats and hoolding spears, many with feathers. The centre shows men holding large flags, and the left man wearing a black cloak and holding a book and with white hair. On the left a couple of soldiers in the same attire, the rest are men and women well dressed many women with white dresses. Chromo-lithograph by W. Griggs. Two copies.
