Description

A Cricket jersey banded with navy blue with name tape W. Rhodes. Wilfred Rhodes (1877-1973) played in 883 matches for Yorkshire between 1898 and 1930 and in 58 matches for England taking 100 wickets in a season twenty-three times. But he won his place in the England side not only as a spin bowler but as a batsman, regulary opening the innings with Hobbs from 1911-1912. In his last Test match at the Oval in 1926, he took 4 wickets for 44 runs to ensure England won the Ashes after an interval of fourteen years. One of his many records was to achieve the 'double' in sixteen seasons.
