Description

Spliced cane handle, single sprung, twined. Remnants of red rubber grip. Straight blade, distinct swell. Worn toe. Blade bound with tape. Maker’s marks on face, and trace on grip. Multiple signatures and inscriptions on blade.

Used by him in making his record season's aggregate of 3,518 runs in 1906. Bares signatures include Hayward and about 135 famous cricketers of his day and later, including P.F. Warner, A.P.F Chapman, W.G Grace and K.S. Ranjitsinhji. Made by Stuart Surridge & Co.
