1:3 M.12.379 Browning's Patent Triangular Cricket Bat & Patent Specification Current manufacturers bring out new and improved bats every season. Each one with the promise of more runs and stunning shots like your cricketing heroes. This triangular bat, turned from a single piece of wood, was patented in 1887 by John Browning to improve performance and ‘insure strict practice’. It was advertised in the 1894 Wisden Almanack, and endorsed by Australian captain, Percy McDonnell. However, it was not a commercial success.
