Hand painted. The original Carshalton Bowl was commissioned by Mr John Durand of Wedgewood. John Durand gave it to the Carshalton Cricket Club and it is now in the possession of Carshalton Urban District Council.

Description

White, creamware, punch bowl with small foot. Gold bands on foot, and rim. Hand painted decoration on outer bowl of sprays of fruit and flowers and an inner border of grapes and vines. Transfer print image of a cricket match in progress inside, unusual wide, three stump wickets. Surrounded by hand painted gold, laurel wreath. Initials 'J D' and date '1796' below. Gold ‘B’ underneath. Includes bespoke acrylic stand. The original Carshalton Bowl was commissioned by Mr John Durand of Wedgewood. John Durand gave it to the Carshalton Cricket Club and it is now in the possession of Carshalton Urban District Council.
