England v Australia Centenary Test Match, 1980 Arthur Weaver (1918 – 2008) Oil on canvas Cricket match in progress at Lord’s Cricket Ground depicted from the upper tier of the H Stand (later Edrich Stand). The painting documents the original Warner Stand flanked by the Pavilion and second Grand Stand. Since graduating from the Hornsey School of Art, British artist Arthur Weaver painted many sporting scenes and was famed for his paintings of championship golf courses both in Britain and in the USA. Originals hang at St Andrews and in the USGA Museum and many have been successfully reproduced as limited edition prints. MCC Collections: Commission M.1980.TN.63
