Leonard Hutton wearing an MCC navy blue touring blazer with scarlet and gold trim, sitting in front of a pavilion, is painted by former war artist and Royal Academician Henry Carr.
Perhaps the foremost English batsman of his generation, Hutton was the first professional cricketer to captain England, famously winning the Ashes in 1953 and 1954-1955. In 1955 the Club changed its rules to allow Sir Len, as a current professional, to become an Honorary Member.
