Scope and Content

Correspondence, photographs, newspaper cuttings, notebooks, exhibition programmes relating to the exhibition of women's cricketana at the Qantas Gallery in Piccadilly, London in 1963, compiled by Molly Hide and Netta Rheinberg, exhibition curators. Includes correspondence with the MCC Curator Diana Rait Kerr regarding the reproduction of photographs for the exhibition and arrangements to loan items from MCC, insurance arrangements, loan forms, correspondence regarding historical research for the exhibition, list of visitors to the exhibition, correspondence with Rothmans of Pall Mall who agreed to sponsor the exhibition, details of publicity arrangements including talks about the exhibition on the BBC, captions used in the exhibition, invoices, photographs of the Australian team visiting the exhibition in 1963, arrangements for display models to be used in the exhibition. Includes correspondence from L G Ames, Irving Rosenwater, G Neville Weston, Edgar M Grace (grandson of W G and Martha), G D Martineau, V M M Cox, H E Archdale and M E Maclagan.

The file also contains a booklet by The Cricket Society titled 'Evidence Prepared by The Cricket Society for presentation to the MCC' in April 1961, suggesting changes to the game of cricket, and a menu card for the Autumn Dinner to the Cricket Society in November 1975, signed by Chris Cowdrey.
