Scope and Content
Scrapbook of newspaper cuttings, menu cards, telegrams, admission tickets, programmes, relating to the England Women tour of Australia and New Zealand in 1934-1935, compiled by E A Snowball. Includes reports on the team's matches and social activities, menu cards for the RMS Cathay ship used by the team to travel to Australia and the MV Wanganella used by the team to travel to New Zealand, certificate issued to Snowball by the RMS Cathay upon crossing the Equator in November 1934, programme for a performance of 'The Famous Arawa Maori Entertainers' [in 1935], programme for a race night on board the RMS Rotorua in March 1935. The scrapbook also contains programmes, tickets and newspaper cuttings from cricket matches played in England in 1934 and 1935, including the England vs. The Rest matches at Old Trafford in July 1934, Northampton in August 1934 and The Oval in June 1935, and a copy of 'Women's Cricket' magazine dated July 1935.
