Scope and Content
Cigarette card depicting a coloured illustrated head and shoulders portrait of Jack White. He is wearing a white shirt and Free Foresters blazer. Series No.17.

Biography on reverse reads: "J. C. White (Somerset) Became a prominent left-arm slow bowler a few years after making his debut for Somerset in 1909. He first attained Test honours in 1921 against Australia at Leeds. Seven years later played in every Test in the Commonwealth, and captained England in the last, at Melbourne. Also toured South America and South Africa. Captain of Somerset for four seasons, White took over 100 wickets in a season every year from 1919 to 1932. Good right-handed bat."
