Cigarette card depicting a coloured illustrated head and shoulders portrait of Maurice Leyland. He is wearing a white shirt, blue blazer and sweater with brown trim. Series No.6.

Biography on reverse reads: "Maurice Leyland Yorkshire's great left-handed batsman, born at Harrogate thirty-six years ago, made his debut of 1920. Has scored over 1,000 runs annually on thirteen occasions and twice toured Australia with M.C.C. teams. In 1934 headed English averages against Australia with 68.28, scoring 478 runs in 8 innings. A mighty hitter, with a powerful hook. Leyland is also a useful left-handed bowler and a fine field; beat his personal record score in May, 1936, compiling 263 against Essex."
