Scope and Content
Scrapbook of newspaper cuttings relating to cricket matches played in the 18th century. Includes reports of matches played at the first Lord's ground in Dorset Square, articles on the St. Leger horse racing winner in 1833, articles from the Cricketers' Register dated 1833, articles announcing the MCC Members' dinner in April [1793] hosted by Thomas Lord. The scrapbook originally belonged to Philip Williams, who donated the book to Lord Bessborough.
