Scope and Content
Photograph album presented to Hitch thanking him for his services whilst acting as cricket coach at Jagirdas' College, Hyderabad, India, following his retirement from first-class cricket. The album has an inscription to the inside front board: 'From the cricketers and myself with best wishes and very many thanks for all the trouble you have taken and the improvement you have brought about'. Signed P.J. Durand (?) September 1933'. The album contains annotated photographs showing Hitch with the 1st XI, 2nd XI, 3rd XI and 4th XI, Falaknuma Palace, interiors of the Palace, Town Hall, Mosque, and scenes of the city. The album contains a signed and dedicated photograph of the Maharaja, and a letter from the Maharaja to Hitch dated 14th September 1945 explaining that Hitch cannot visit in the Winter.
