Biography on reverse reads: "W. M. Woodfull, a Victorian and a member of the South Melbourne Club, is only 29 years of age, but has already proved himself a sound, and at times, brilliant batsman. He played a great innings of 236 against South Australia in an inter-state game in the early part of this year, and in 1923-4 he helped Victoria to win the Sheffield Shield. A good fieldsman in any position, he has corrected an ungainly style during the last two seasons."
