Scope and Content

Postcard depicting a black and white photographic group portrait of the MCC team vs. Yorkshire in 1956. Eleven players are standing in a line on playing area. All players are wearing cricket whites and v-neck cableknit sweaters, two wear Middlesex sweaters with seaxe crest on the chest, one wears a Kent sweater with horse crest on the chest, one wears an England home sweater with three lions crest on the chest, three wear MCC tour sweaters with striped trim, one wears an Oxford University sweater with two crown crest on the chest, one wears a sweater with two-coloured trim, one wears a sweater with dark stripe trim with thin light stripe in the centre, one wears a sweater with light stripe trim. Two wear MCC tour caps with St. George and dragon crest on the front, one wears a white turban, one wears pads. Pavilion in background.
