Postcard depicting a black and white photographic group portrait of Mr A E R Gilligan's XI vs. Hon L H Tennyson's XI, twenty-two players and two umpires are positioned in two rows. All players are wearing cricket whites, twelve wear MCC touring blazers with St. George and dragon crest on breast pocket and striped trim, one wears a Surrey blazer with initials and ostrich feather crest on breast pocket, one wears a Gloucestershire blazer with coat of arms on breast pocket, one wears a Warwickshire blazer with bear crest on breast pocket and striped trim, three wear different three-coloured striped blazers, one wears a dark blazer with thin light stripes, one wears a plain dark blazer. Four wear MCC tour caps with St. George and dragon crest on the front, one wears an England home cap with three lions crest on the front, one wears a Warwickshire cap with bear crest on the front, one wears a Sussex cap with martlet crest on the front, one wears a Gloucestershire cap with crest on the front, two wear Royal Air Force caps with crest on the front, one wears a possible Army cap with winged crest on the front. At least nine wear a variety of v-neck cableknit sweaters with striped trim, eleven wear cravats. The two umpires wear suits and hold white overcoats, one wears a flat cap and one wears a brimmed hat. Situated in front of a fence with with trees behind and spectators standing in background.
