Scope and Content
Postcard depicting a black and white photographic portrait of Alan Marshal playing a forward defensive shot at the wicket. He is wearing cricket whites, dark cap with pairs of thin light stripes, woollen sweater, leather tubing batting gloves and pads. Trees with building behind wall in background. Named as Marshall.

Message on reverse reads: "Are you still alive. if so let me know and say that you will come to a small [?] party here on Wed 25th at 7pm (or so) and matron asks will you kindly ask mr and mrs andrews to come. Let me know. With best wishes [?] "long-stop" tell mrs andrews to bring her son."

Sent to: W Bertram Esq., Chalk Pit Nurseries, Oakham Rd, S Croydon. Green Edward VII half penny stamp with Croydon postmark, 20 December 1910.
