Text on reverse states: "C.V. GRIMMETT.- A New Zealander by birth, C.V. Grimmett astonished the world by leaping from practical obscurity to sporting fame by taking 11 of the wickets of Gilligan's 1925 team for 82 runs in his first Test. He is small of stature and the bowler of a baffling spin break. Age 33 years."
