Track 1: [0:00-3:40] Shepherd talks about how he joined Kent County Cricket Club in 1965 having played against the Rothman's Cavaliers and giving up a career in teaching, [3:40-8:10] Shepherd talks about arriving in England and the initial reactions of the Kent team to Shepherd, [8:10-10:45] Shepherd talks about arriving with Keith Boyce to England, the residential qualification he needed to achieve before playing for Kent and working at Kent and Canterbury Hospital during those years.

[10:45-13:50] Shepherd talks about his early successes in the Kent team and the support he received from Colin Cowdrey, [13:50-15:40] Shepherd talks about being called up to the West Indies team on their 1969 tour of England, [15:40-19:10] Shepherd talks about playing against Derek Underwood and Alan Knott and having Garfield Sobers as captain, and feeling as though playing against the England team was like a county game as he was familiar with all the players and being given out against Underwood at Headingley, [19:10-23:35] Shepherd talks about his career playing for the West Indies, going on tour to South Africa with the Derrick Robins XI and International Cavaliers but not being banned from the West Indies team, and Shepherd's feeling of being more respected in South Africa than the Caribbean.

[30:30-36:20] Shepherd talks about leaving Kent and joining Gloucestershire County Cricket Club, and managing to achieve 1,000 wickets and 10,000 runs in first-class cricket, [36:20-41:05] Shepherd talks about becoming President of Kent County Cricket Club.
