Correspondence, telegrams and newspaper cuttings relating to the South African tour of the British Isles in 1970. Subjects include letters urging the Cricket Council to 'stand firm' and congratulating the MCC on continuing with the tour, suggestions for the tour to help it take place, including setting up a public fund to help with police protection, notices to members announcing a delay in ticket applications for the tour, newspaper article suggesting that MCC had sold a painting of a seventeenth century cricket match because of the costs of the South African tour. The file includes slanderous remarks made against Peter Hain.
