Correspondence, telegrams and newspaper cuttings relating to the question of whether the South African tour of the British Isles in 1970 should happen. Subjects include letters mostly in support of the MCC Cricket Council's decision to go ahead with the tour, including letters from South Africa, suggestions of a fund being established for the tour, ideas on how to avoid demonstrations, telegram from Desmond [Donnelly MP] supporting the MCC and promising to 'attack Prime Minister in Commons Thursday' regarding the South African tour, letter from John Jackson, chairman of the Support the Seventy Tour committee, urging the Cricket Council to continue with the tour. The vast majority of letters are sent to S C Griffith, MCC Secretary.
